Hoses/Profiles
What are profiles/hoses?
Profiles and hoses are strands of rubber or plastic/ TPE whose cross-section can be designed differently from thick to very filigree so that desired functions can be fulfilled. These functions can be damping, sealing, covering, protecting, transporting media and many more. They are produced endlessly and then cut to the right length either directly by the manufacturer or by one of our special service providers.
In the case of very short cut-off widths, the parts can also be punched or water-jetted. In this case, the geometries are then machined out of sheet material.
You will find a wide range of different profiles.
What do you need profiles/hoses for?
Profiles/hoses are used in many ways, e.g. to transport media such as air, water, chemicals or lubricants and fuels or oils, as end pieces to seal off pipe systems or to separate chamber sections/cabins from each other. Chamber profiles very often form the end of moving elements such as (rolling) gates or closing systems, to dampen the end stop or to protect the interior from moisture and dirt penetration.
Cut into thin slices, hose sections/profile sections also provide a cost-effective alternative to molded seals when every hundredth does not matter.
Profiles/hoses are used, among other things, in
- media-carrying systems
- fittings
- gate systems
- center consoles (as anti-squeak elements)
- power tools
In which industries are profiles/hoses used?
Because profiles/hoses can be found almost everywhere where sealing/damping or protection is required due to their multiple applications, they are used in many industries. The use of a wide variety of materials, including high quality materials, favors their suitability for various fields. These include
- the sanitary industry
- the automotive and commercial vehicle industries
- the general mechanical engineering and machine tool industry
- the food industry
