Since extrusion can theoretically be used to produce workpieces of any length, this process is particularly suitable for the cost-effective and rapid production of profiles and hoses.
But smaller workpieces, such as rings and discs, can also be produced in this way. For this purpose, the extruded workpiece is brought to the desired length in a second work step.
Profiles
In the automotive industry, in the construction industry and in the trades - dimensionally stable profiles are required everywhere for a wide variety of applications. These can be seals for doors and windows or form-giving elements in the interior of vehicles.
Depending on the application, these profiles can be made from a wide variety of plastics, such as PE, PA, PUR or TPE.
Hoses
Hoses are probably the most classic extrusion workpieces. A simple ring shape is extruded to almost any length. As a rule, shaping is carried out via a mandrel, the thickness of which determines the inner diameter of the hose. Coextrusion also makes it possible to produce coated hoses.
Hose ellbows
Hose elbows are individually manufactured connecting elements for connecting two or more hose lines.Hose elbows are used in air intake and distribution, in cooling and heating elements, for vibration and noise insulation or in fuel supply.
Typical industries in which hose bends are installed are vehicle and engine construction as well as air conditioning and ventilation technology.
Hose rings
Hose rings are individually manufactured extrusion parts with an almost unlimited range of applications. Hose rings can be used as sealing and buffer elements, in gas and fuel lines, and as connection elements for a wide variety of applications.
Depending on the range of applications, hose rings are made of a wide variety of plastics whose chemical, mechanical and physical properties are precisely matched to the respective application.
What are typical extrusion parts?
Due to the manufacturing process, typical extrusion parts are simple moldings of any length, such as hoses, seals and profile strips. Shorter workpieces, such as rings and sealing washers, are shortened or shaped to the desired length after extrusion.
Special extrusion techniques also allow the production of coated or fiber-reinforced extrusion parts.
